You'll need: Commercial vehicle insurance (hire and reward), Goods in transit cover (minimum £10,000), and Public liability insurance. We can recommend insurance providers who understand courier requirements and offer competitive rates for self-employed drivers.

Earnings & Payment

Earnings typically range from £150-£250 per day, depending on route density, delivery volume, and hours worked. Full-time drivers working 5-6 days per week can earn £35,000-£65,000 annually. Peak seasons like Christmas often offer increased rates and bonuses.

Payments are made weekly via bank transfer, typically on Fridays for the previous week's work. You'll receive detailed statements showing deliveries completed, rates, and any bonuses. No cash handling is required - all transactions are digital.

Yes! We offer performance bonuses for excellent service, peak period supplements, referral bonuses for bringing in new drivers, and priority access to premium routes for top performers. Some drivers also take on multi-drop routes for increased earnings.

Daily Operations

A typical day starts with collecting your parcels from the depot (usually 7-9 AM), loading your van using our optimized route plan, delivering throughout your assigned area, and returning any undelivered items to the depot. Most drivers complete their routes within 8-10 hours.

As a self-employed driver, you have flexibility in choosing your working days. Most drivers work 5-6 days per week. While start times are set by depot operations (typically 7-9 AM), you control your pace throughout the day and can take breaks as needed.

Daily delivery volumes vary by route and season, typically ranging from 80-150 parcels per day. Routes are designed to be completable within reasonable hours. During peak periods like Christmas, volumes may increase, but so do the rates to compensate.

Support

We provide comprehensive support including: 24/7 driver helpline, on-road assistance, depot managers for daily queries, dedicated driver app with live chat, regular performance feedback, and a driver community forum for peer support and tips.

All new drivers receive full training covering: App usage and route optimization, delivery procedures and customer service, safety and security protocols, and efficient loading techniques. Ongoing training is available for those wanting to improve their performance.

We understand vehicles can have issues. If you breakdown, contact our support team immediately. We can arrange recovery, help transfer parcels to another driver if needed, and connect you with our network of approved mechanics for quick repairs at discounted rates.
